As police looks to find Pop Smoke’s killers, the rapper had to shut down a recent performance due to some concerns about who would be in attendance.
Pop was supposed to perform at the King’s Theater in Brooklyn, but had to cancel after the said the NYPD shut it down, saying, “Unfortunately NYPD wouldn’t let me perform.”
But according to TMZ, it was Pop who cancelled, and it was because he was worried that gang members would in the audience. Pop was fighting federal car theft charges, so the rapper chose preserving himself over performing.
It is now widely suspected that Pop Smoke’s death was a coordinated hit, possibly by rival gang members, and cancelling that Brooklyn show hasn’t escaped thinking of law enforcement.
Pop’s family has also been searching for answers, as the case is still being investigated.
