Tragic news as NBA and L.A. Lakers legend Kobe Bryant died in a helicoper crash in Calabasas Sunday morning. TMZ Sports reports Kobe was traveling with at least 3 other people in his private helicopter when it crashed, leading to a brush fire breaking out.
Emergency personnel reached the scene, but the other 4 people are also confirmed dead. Kobe’s wife Vanessa Bryant was not among those on board. However, their oldest daughter Gianna, 13 was in the helicopter, as they were on their way to his Mamba Academy sports complex for a basketball game
Kobe famously used a helicopter to travel for years — dating back to his playing days with the Lakers. He was known for commuting from Newport Beach, CA to the Staples Center in his Sikorsky S-76 chopper.
Kobe is survived by his wife Vanessa, and their remaining three daughters — Natalia, Bianca, and their newborn Capri.
