Duckwrth’s newest project, The Falling Man, is out today. The album parallels the ups and downs of an artist to a king, addressing Duckwrth’s fear of falling as quickly as he rises. Taking easy to relate themes like power and corruption, love and death, and courage and heroism, Duckwrth scores big, cinematic sounds to tell stories both familiar and forgotten.
From Nobody Falls, a track about not wanting to be constrained by anything, not even love, to reality checking numbers like King King, and Sallie Mae, Duckwrth challenges himself emotionally and sonically by laying down intricate thoughts next to fusions of orchestral strings, 808s and disorted bass lines.
“The Falling Man” includes production from Medasin, Mr. Carmack, NoMbe, Two Fresh, strings from Harlan Silverman, and features guest appearances from Terrace Martin, Rico Nasty, Allan Kingdom, and Kiana Ledé.
