Ace Clark f/ Cozz – Dumb Nigga

The Black male experience is one where simply existing somehow creates an unsafe environment where one is automatically perceived as a threat. Dumb Nigga may be the title of Brooklyn rapper Ace Clark’s latest new record which features Dreamville’s Cozz, however the hook and both rappers verses push the envelop establishing a positive spin on a negative connotation.

South Central Los Angeles native Cozz passionately raps about his personal experience growing up on the West Coast, where more often than not black men are quickly viewed as thugs by police. Cozz gets vulnerable and bares his soul on this record. From his cadence and delivery, to the way he shares his thoughts using the art of storytelling, the Dreamville rapper effectively gets his point across.

Ace Clark’s self-produced record showcases the rapper/singer’s versatility as an overall musician and impactful lyricist. His introspective message holds the position that black men are graceful, intelligent and unbreakable.

These two emcees share the same experiences on this record, even though they are from two different coasts.

The conscience, yet home grown true to life reality of Hip Hop touches on the emotions revolving around growing up underprivileged.
