ScHoolBoy Q’s releases have been sparse since he dropped his 2016 album Black Face LP. He was featured on 21 Savage’s album I Am > I Was, and also worked with DJ Esco and Bay Area spitter Kamaiyah since the release.
He was reportedly 90%-95% done with his next album last summer, but halted making music when his good friend and fellow rapper Mac Miller passed, telling a crowd in September, “With my n***a gone right now, I just don’t feel right putting out an album. As y’all can tell, I’m not my real self right now. I shouldn’t even be here right now. But like I said, my n***a Mac would not want me to be in the house sad…I’m just not ready to walk into the radio station and the first thing they ask me is ‘So Mac Miller…’ I’m not ready to deal with those questions. I’m not ready to put nothing out right now. I’m sorry.”
Well it looks like the TDE artist is ready for his return, releasing a new single titled Numb Numb Juice. Let’s hope the album isn’t too far away now.
