Born on October 28, 1992, in Cap-Haitien, Haiti, this musical genius was born Roosevelt Jean. His parents were both entrepreneurs and they both largely influenced his life in music. His father worked with musical great, H.B. Barnum, and had a band in Haiti.His father played the drums and the guitar. His fathers’ musical background inspired him to explore instruments and singing.At a very young age, Jay Buck taught himself how to read music notes. He also taught himself how-to-play the piano, saxophone, trumpet, and snare drum. He possessed a distinct love for learning and music. Growing up in some of the toughest conditions, Jay Bucklearned to take care of himself at a very young age. Cap Haitien is one of the poorest cities in Haiti. Growing up in this environment molded Jay Buck into a savage. He had to find ways to survive without the proper guidance of his parents.
Jay Buck has returned to his music under new management and he is releasing his new project under the direction of Hard Tymes Records. Jay Buck has recently released his mixtape Maimi Heat for the masses. After, a three-year hiatus, the Miami Heat mixtape served as gift to his fans after a 3 year hiatus and it also doubled as an appetizer to his forthcoming effort, The Buckalini Project. The Buckalini Project is a musically-driven campaign to increase awareness in the areas of music, community, and spiritual enlightenment. His experience of the Kudalini Rising has seriously affected his life, which explains where “Buckalini” was derived from. For his newest release, Jay Buck releases a new single titled “2 Official” — a fiery track that comes led by Jay Buck’s unrelenting flow and his tenacious persona. “2 Official” shows great promise for what’s to come from the Haitian-born rapper for current fans and new listeners alike.
