Born on October 28, 1992, in Cap-Haitien, Haiti, this musical genius was born Roosevelt Jean. His parents were both entrepreneurs and they both largely influenced his life in music. His father worked with musical great, H.B. Barnum, and had a band in Haiti.His father played the drums and the guitar. His fathers’ musical background inspired him to explore instruments and singing.At a very young age, Jay Buck taught himself how to read music notes. He also taught himself how-to-play the piano, saxophone, trumpet, and snare drum. He possessed a distinct love for learning and music. Growing up in some of the toughest conditions, Jay Bucklearned to take care of himself at a very young age. Cap Haitien is one of the poorest cities in Haiti. Growing up in this environment molded Jay Buck into a savage. He had to find ways to survive without the proper guidance of his parents.
