You would think with the commercial success and critical acclaim of Travis Scott’s new album Astroworld, anyone who worked to make the project what it was would be happy to be featured. Well, Frank Ocean isn’t anyone and he’s not happy to be on said album.
According to TMZ, a beef between Frank and Travis started beefing in the weeks leading up to the August release of Travis’ “Astroworld” album, which immediately shot up to No. 1 on Billboard, and it’s about their collaboration, Carousel.
Frank is pissed because his vocals — featured in the chorus and third verse — were changed. Now it’s not clear what made him upset, but it could possibly be that his vocals include Auto-Tune … and his pitch is noticeably higher in the third verse than in the chorus.
Frank’s anger has gotten to a point that he’s demanding his vocals be removed from the track, but so far no dice. Now lawyers have stepped in, with Frank’s legal team firing off a cease and desist to Travis’ team to remove him from “Carousel” … OR ELSE!
To his credit (or not), Travis hasn’t flinched, and he has no intention of removing Frank from the track … which is one of the standout cuts off the album.
