Jay Z and Beyoncé dropping their surprise album the day after NaS released his, has many fans thinking the legendary the two rappers have reignited their beef, but this isn’t going to be 2001 all over again.
TMZ reports that NaS isn’t mad about Everything Is Love being released on Saturday, and doesn’t think The Carters will steal any thunder from his new album, Nasir. NaS actually appreciates the fact Jay and Bey are music royalty at this point, and actually really likes their new record.
If you’re too young to remember, NaS and Jay had quite the rivalry back in the late ’90s and early 2000s, culminating with the release of some of the best diss records of all-time. They would eventually bury the hatchet in 2005.
They’ve been friends ever since, and NaS is more interested in “black excellence” these days, rather than drama.
