Tekashi 6ix9ine Arrested for “Assaulting” an Officer

Lighting rod for controversy, rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was reportedly arrested for assaulting a police officer on this past Sunday (5/20). Page Six reports 6ix9ine parked his SUV in front of a fire hydrant on Sterling Place in Bed-Stuy around 4:15 pm.

When police approached the rapper, real name Daniel Hernandez, he couldn’t produce a valid ID. Police would run a background check on the rapper, and discover that he has a suspended license.

After picking up a charge for aggravated unlicensed operation, Tekashi allegedly assaulted an officer while his handcuffs were being taken off. According to a statement made by an NYPD spokesperson, 6ix9ine grabbed and squeezed an officer’s hand, causing “pain and swelling.”

No word on if the rapper is still locked up.
