Two out-the-mud upstarts from the bottom of the map, OMB Peezy and Sherwood Marty pledge allegiance to the grind. Coming together for a Southern fried selection of rock solid bangers, Peezy and Marty share Young & Reckless, a full-length collab mixtape. Bursting with reverbing, twangy guitars, snapping snares and infectious basslines, Young & Reckless finds the duos navigating life on the streets with earned wisdom and brash confidence. Featuring the raucous single “Crash Out,” Young & Reckless showcases the two labelmates’ instant chemistry, with Sherwood’s blunt force perfectly syncing with Peezy’s tumbling hurricane of syllables. With appearances from TK Kravitz and Sherwood Flameand production from Drum Dummie and others, Young & Reckless arrives via 300 Entertainment.
Born in Alabama, the 20-year-old Peezy moved to the west coast when he was 12, developing a reputation as a rap prodigy, building a following on YouTube, and gaining the respect of the new wave of Bay Area artists such as Nef The Pharaoh and legends such as E-40. In 2017, OMB Peezy parlayed his grassroots local fanbase into a national following, earning millions of combined streams on his singles like the virally popular hits”When I Was Down,” “Porch,” and “Lay Down,” which Pigeons & Planes listed at #14 in their halftime list of Best Songs of 2017. In October, Peezy shared his debut project Humble Beginnings, a slap-heavy six-pack produced in full by Grammy-nominated producer Cardo Got Wingz (Kendrick Lamar, Jeezy, Meek Mill) and released by Sick Wid It/300 Ent.. Peezy also toured throughout 2017, supporting Detroit artist Tee Grizzley in the fall and accompanying SOB x RBE on a national tour in the spring. In November, he collaborated with Gucci Mane on “Pray For Me,” a track by producer Adam Snow. Most recently, Peezy shared videos for Humble Beginnings hits “Talk My Shit” and “Doin’ Bad,” and released a revealing documentary via TIDAL.
Signed to 300 Ent., Louisiana rapper Sherwood Marty burst onto the scene in 2016 with the breakthrough mixtape Struck in the Trenches: Self Made Vol. 1, which featured appearances from Scotty Cain and others. In 2017, Marty continued to build buzz, generating over 1.3 million views for his “Sherwood Baby” music video, earning more than 700k plays for his single “Ride,” and recording a popular remix to YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s hit single “Untouchable.” The latest in a long line of soulful Bayou-born rappers, Sherwood Marty will elevate his game even further in the coming year.
