Looks like Kodak Black will finally be released from prison, but won’t exactly be a free man. According to the Sun-Sentinel, Black was sentenced to a year of house arrest and will be released from prison after striking a deal in a Florida court. He will be sent to a locale in South Florida, 50 minutes from where he grew up to serve out his sentence. After originally pleading not guilty for two cases, he changed his pleas to no contest. He was charged with robbery, false imprisonment, fleeing a law enforcement officer and possession of a firearm by a delinquent. The deal also including him dodging a felony conviction, and will allow him to tour across the country.
Black is currently signed to Atlantic Records and had a lot of success as an independent artist before striking that deal, from his feature on French Montana’s Lock Jaw, his most recent mixtape Lil B.I.G. Pac, which dropped in June and a feature on DJ Khaled’s Major Key album. He plans to release his first solo album at some point this winter.
