Even though Drake has neither done or said anything to Shyne to provoke him to speak of him in a negative light, Shyne did it anyway. More after the jump.
Shyne’s initial target was Diddy since his release from prison, claiming that his former boss hasn’t been helping him gain access to the United States again. But during an interview with MTV News, Shyne spoke about how Drake is in his eyes just an actor from Canada who imitates the street life. He feels as though artists like Drake wouldn’t be around if Biggie and Pac were still alive.
“What does he do? He’s an actor from Canada. So he just studied Lil Wayne, studied Kanye… he studied them and he just acts like a street kid? These dudes couldn’t exist in the Raekwon, Ghostface era. If Big and ’em was around and ‘Pac, c’mon man, they’d have these dudes for lunch. That’s my problem with this culture, you can say anything you want, you can promote anything you want and nobody’s held accountable, and then they’ll say that I’m hatin’. I would really prefer Drake to sing about girls and sing about being a good kid from Canada and whatever that entails.”
