What was supposed to be a joyous event, turned into a disappointing one as Jay-Z cancelled his free Pro-Obama Miami show last night (10/6) at the Bayfront Park Amphitheatre, due to apparent throat problems.

Organizers of the event initially attempted to stall for time, saying that Jay was running late, but eventually broke the news to thousands of dejected fans. Organizers also feel like a great opportunity was missed due to yesterday being the last possible day to register to vote in the upcoming presidential election in Miami.

“The whole concert has had to be cancelled because it was Jay-Z who pulled out. We haven’t been told why, but I’m sure all the fans want an explanation,” an anonymous Bayfront Park official speculated to AllHipHop.com.

The concert which was free, was to also include Wyclef Jean and Rick Ross as performers. But, the entire event was a wash due to a backlash after Jay's cancellation from fans in attendance.

No words as to whether Jay-Z plans to reschedule the Miami show.
